Topic : should I ?

If I bring Aunt Fanny to Salcombe - should I sail? - are there any places left? - and does anyone want to crew for an ageing idiot (I promise to lose 2500 grams at least and get fit(ter))

I think 'aged idiot ' would be more precise !!!

The answer is an unequivotal yes on almost all counts.............

We are at 98 boats as a couple or 4 have had to drop out - broken ankles, heads etc and thats only the Porkins!

Get your entry to me, no late entry fees (!) and it would be great to see Fanny in the fleet again

Yes, I agree there has been a distinct lack of Fanny in the fleet for a while now.

Personally, I would like to see lots of Fanny in the boatpark prior to launching. Moreso when if the weather is nice.

Maybe if we all bought our cameras, we could get some pics on the website?

Presumably this boat is named after the character in Enid Blyton's Famous Five books; the wife of that irascible geek Uncle Quentin who filled the children up with shredded wheat and ginger beer before they set off in horse drawn caravans and had adventures?

Incorrect Douglas. Aunt fanny is infact alive and well and resides in finchley and is in fact a cross breed between an aged maureen lipman and maragaret Thatcher. A formidable person. She is also affectionately known as Aunty Diddy

She was long ago betrothed but at the last moment pulled back from the engagement to a Mr Hyman.

You work it out

Tsk tsk, terrible attention to detail! Actually, Uncle Quentin was so obsessed with his work that he rarely remembered to feed himself, let alone give ginger beer to the children.

At the risk of starting an Enid Blyton tangent here, let's get back on the original topic:

All in favour of The Gurn racing at Salcombe say aye...

pity I didnt get a proper education - dont know what you are all on about - more to the point I need a good lightweight crew - the last race I did at Salcombe was with a bloke called Kevin Driver - seemed quite handy up the front of the boat. Finshed 4th - but over the line - had a good chance of a top 3 position overall - finished 7th I think - need to do it again. Any takers - I will be in good shape I promise
