MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Cookham Weekend

We have decided not to run a formal party on the Saturday evening - May 16th.

As I am sure you know there is a Vintage event on that Saturday
AND
an Open event for the Guy Pearce Trophy - run on the MR handicap system! Open to Merlin's of all ages
AND
The Silver Tiller event on Sunday 17th

However we sense that there isn't much demand for a 'Rave Up' - so the club bar will be open and our beautiful riverside village has plenty of hostelries that we can adjourn to for food. Perhaps a stroll up the riverbank to the infamous 'Bounty'

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Weather is looking good for the weekend at last!
Southerly breeze is a good direction for Cookham and it looks as if the rain and general 'duriness' will be over by tomorrow - there is even sunshine on XC Weather.

Vintage start for DeMay Trophy series at 11.30 Saturday
Guy Pearce Trophy - for all Merlins on age handicap - at 15.00
Silver Tiller starts at 11.00 on Sunday

Alan, just come along with your boat and see if there is anyone around. There is generally someone float around the club willing/wanting to sail.

Be good to see you.

I'll pop down Sunday with my kit, but not boat, in case it is still windy and someone wants to upgrade their crew weight :-)

A good days racing with plenty of wind from the SE. 3 races run in groups. Some viscious gusts with quite a bit of capsizing all through the fleet.
Not sure of all results but Matt Biggs won & the rest something like below:

1. Matt Biggs
2. Glenn Truswell
3. Duncan Salmon
4. Andy Harris

PS: Sailwave users! If you have used Sailwave to handle 'flights', please can you get in touch with me? I am trying to improve the format of the individual race tables.
