Topic : Easter sailing & training day

Wondering where to go sailing this Easter?
How about glorious Poole Harbour? Sun (if we're lucky), sea and sandy beaches for the family.

The Parkstone Easter regatta starts on Saturday (April 11th) and finishes on the Monday. It's an open event and we know of at least 10 Merlins who will be there. We are planning 5 races with 3 races to count, which means you don't have to do the whole weekend to qualify (just in case the family has other plans for you!). Entry fee is yet to be confirmed but will be around £15-£20. There will be things going on at the club plus Poole & Bournemouth will be in full swing so plenty of entertainment.

Training - On Good Friday Dan Alsop wil be providing a race training day. Perfect timing to tweak and tune your pre-season training having had a couple of open meetings elsewhere.

Fri 10th - Race Training day with Dan Alsop
Sat 11th - Race 1 & 2
Sun 12th - Race 3 & 4
Mon 13th - Race 5 (giving you time to get home).

If you're planning on coming to the Silver Tiller in October then this is a great opportunity to get some Poole harbour practice in.

Everyone is welcome and we would love to see loads more Merlins there so please let me know if you're coming - especially if you want to do the training day so that I can let Dan and the club know numbers.

Plenty of accommodation - we can provide a list and there might room at some club members' homes.

[email protected] or call me on 07834 770428.

Mark.

Update for you. It looks like there could be 6 races now, not 5 as originally suggested. Entry fee is confirmed at £15. NOR to follow. Looks like we could have 14 boats. Anyone else coming?

Don't forget there is a training day with Dan on Good Friday.

Is it just the dinghy classes listed on the NOR or is it open to other classes such as GP14? I have a merlin but a pal is looking for somewhere to sail his GP over Easter.

Martin, I have asked if your pal and his GP14 can sail in the Regatta and should have an answer for you tomorrow.
I am sure we can get them in a Merlin if they fancy that. We may have a couple of boats looking for crews. Let me know what you think. Mark.

Martin, I'm sorry I haven't been able to confirm if the GP14 can race or not. I guess it might be too late now but we can definitely accommodate the Merlin and if we can't get the GP on the water we can definitely get the crew sailing in something. Not the offer you wanted, but if you decide to come let me know. Mark.
