I would just like to say well done to Mags for representing the Merlins at the Battle of the Classes, London Boat Show. He did the class proud.

A slight correction there....I only represented my class by making sure we had an entry, and sending out the SIs etc. If I was sailing you'd be looking for me behind the Bosuns....

The helm and crew who braved the cold were Alex Jackson and Chris Whitehouse (unless there was another last-minute change).

Sadly I am in the dark about the results, as the promised spreadsheet from the race officer did not arrive!

As an example of the personal sacrifices people make to support this class I'd lake to bring your attention to Chris Whitehouse for crewing me at the Battle of the Classes, not only was it freezing cold and miserable but it turns out he did the entire race with a hernia, I thought he was just being lazy and not hiking hard. Submitted himself in to A&E Sunday night and went under the knife Monday morning. Anyway, once he's back up and running make sure you get the poor lad a beer.
