Topic : What plants?

As`sailing is almost finished and the silly season is upon us I have just read in the Sunday Times that GB will give low carbon footprint pot plants to the medallists at the London 2012 OLympics rather than bunches of imported exotics. What would the panel like to suggest would be appropriate for each sailing class bearing in mind that (hopefully) most will be going to the GB team?

I have about 50 yards of laurel hedge the Olympians can have for victors (victrix's?)wreaths. I have to keep cutting the darm things so to have a garden full of winning athletes chopping it down so I can go sailing will be most welcome. As the bl____dy leaves don't rot down I think I might just pop the summer cut in the post to Seb Coe to he can dole them out. Very green, what?

From what I understand Johnathan you will need to take cuttings and pot them on. To prevent the spread of disease you will need to make sure there are no (Laser) bugs on the leaves!!

There's Sweet Rocket for the Merlins but the Olympic classes are uninspiring.

If they do decide to reinstate the multihull class, you could have catmint.

When a rose was named after my then wife I labelled it as "not much good in a bed but all right up against a wall". It contributed to her becoming ex. It was a prickly climber so pretty apt.
