Topic : Merlin jpeg

Does anyone remember the fancy jpeg of a 3d merlin which rotated, and do they know where to find it if it still exists?

I've got it, if you want it. I have all the old website files. Let me know your email address.

Hey this is excellent - anybody know who made it and if there's a hi-res version?

My bro created this years ago and he says that the files are looong gone.
Wasn't bad for a bit of guess work on hull shape & scale of rig etc!

Thats a shame, I will endevour to find some time to throw one together, but that may take a while as i'm in the process of moving house!

Perhaps Tom Mac could be prevailed upon to do it again, please. But a bit bigger this time!

How about with the ability to choose your own sail number?
Ok a bit sad but a mighty cool avatar for any other forums you may subscribe to.

Ah, but if you do sail numbers you need to do hull colours too....

Now your getting into the realms of block editing in CAD. Its doable but you all need the package and know how!

David have you found the time or inclination to have a go at this?

I created the 3D MR a long time ago (when i had too much time on my hands) Presumably there are cad plans (autocad, or line drawn)in existance of a winder boat, would make it easier to reproduce a new (more accurate) 3D version. The old one was done by alot of guess work/by eye. from what i remember it was a bit of a pain.(gutted i cant find it...lost in the depths of an old computer somewhere!) but may be willing to have another go if there are any plans in existance.

Tom, I have a 3D model of a 'modern Merlin' which you can have in DXF or IGES format.
