Topic : Jim Park presents his apologies ......

Jim has asked me to present his apologies for not appearing at the Wembley Open, as he was "in hospital having his left leg taken off"!

I visited Jim today, and report that he is in good spirits. He still has the upper part of his left leg, including the knee. We spent an hour or so discussing, amongst other things, the best way he can start sailing again, and the merits of automatic gear boxes. He expects to be back at home in a few days time.

Which hospital?

Hope Jim recovers well. He could do worse than look at the 2.4 mtR class - paralympic possibilites. Both hand and foot controls mean virtually any disability is catered for, and the competition is excellent.

Thanks for your well wishes. I will pass them on to Jim. He was in Northwick Park hospital in Harrow/Kenton North London, but is expected home shortly.

Is it possible for somebody please to give Jim my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I have only seen him once in the last 30 years at Salcombe three or four years ago. He is a great guy. Once again all the best Jim from Portugal.

Jim is now back at home. His leg is healing up, and he is talking about getting around. I spoke to him on the phone. He sounded much better than before, and says that he is no longer in pain. I will pass on your good wishes to him.

Please also pass my best wishes to Jim. He was always there to encourage me and Rupert when we raced at Wembley.
