Shameless plug for the last MR traveller north of the border in a couple of weeks. A final fling if you will. Locj Tummel SC is left at Pitlochry off the A9 on the south bank of the loch. New clubhouse and a great stretch of water to play on. Dont be square be there!

AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANT
Just a couple of points for any one planning on going to Loch Tummel. Bring your own alcohol as the club doesn't have a bar and the nearest pub is about 10 miles away and allow plenty of time to drive the last ten miles from Pitlochry along the south side of Loch Tummel it is single track road and can easily take half an hour or more if traffic is busy.

Bar is 6 miles from club but if you rent a caravan or chalet at Tummel Bridge the bar is 40 staggering steps. The north road (turn off after Pitlochry heading north) is wider but longer distance. See you there.

With this event starting next weekend - 20th and 21st September a timely reminder that those of the English persuasion should really have started off by now!! Seriously though do come along - I will be there with my Avon Skin So Soft for anyone who requires it to deter the midges should the weather be so unkind.

Or sign up for Aberdeen Universitys Midge Repellant Trial, as annnounced on the Today Programme, but do go to Loch Tummel to feel the tangle of the isles.

Looks like a lovely weekend forecast at Loch Tummel - sunshine and 8-10mph wind though local conditions will prevail I have been told and of course superb scenery - but certainly the chance of a midge!! See you there. Also a deliberate flag up to the top of the list.

Courses at Tummel tend to have plenty reaches in them as the loch is long and narrow, so 10mph suits me fine.Lets hope it blows from the west or the east down the loch rather than across it...

Looking like south west according to XC weather

Range of conditions over the weekend from flat calm to blowing a hooley!! 111 survived intact and will fight another day. No doubt Hamish will get the results posted at some point as he has the details - and he was first Merlin!!! Great weekend - fantastic scenery.
