Or just follow the flags on the start pole?

Hi John
I will be setting off from Blackpool on Saturday at midday with 3582 and aim to get there as soon as I am able to. My crew has to work Saturday morning, hence a bit of a rush!
Assuming I miss the trolley transport times, is there anything else that we can do?
Fingers crossed, I will arrive with time to spare for registaration!

You keep your eyes peeled for a friendly Merlin sailor in a motor-boat, and start begging. If that fails, sail over to Mill Bay and beg for someone to come back to Batson to get your trolley. Mention beer.

I also once paid for a berth at Batson for a week - very convienient if your house is up that end of town and you can't be bothered to traipse over on the ferry each day.

Last resort, turn trolley upside down and it can be carried on the boat! Protect the deck, and drop the mainsail if the wind isn't light. Yup, done that too.

I have patched up the old Zodiac with a few tubes of Sikaflex - very sticky stuff.

Assuming the engine isn't clogged form last years Salcombe salt, I will be happy to transport the odd trolley or two. I am the good looking one with the matching reputation - black fingers and grey hair.

Should be around Sat and Sunday - hail the Gurn with a promise of a pint which will buy one trolley ride

Your best bet is probably to aim to sail out of Batson for the 1st race on Sunday morning hoping to find some kind person to take the trolley and clobber over during it. If that fails then the tide will be falling on Mill Bay for long enough to sort it out after the race.

John,
Will the race results be available on the Salcombe YC website for the poor workers who can't attend ?

By: RH
Yup, the results should be posted to the SYC website even before the competitors see them on the club's notice board..........................
