Topic : Merlin 3245 exits the garage at last

After 2 years of confinement in a darkened garage, 3245 has burst out today! No, I haven't finished any of the repairs, and no, she isn't going on the water......but the next best thing is to take her to my kid's school for the week, to inspire future generations of sailors.

It is 'art week' at the school and since there was a sea-faring theme, it seemed only right a real boat was present.

The kids are all dressing as pirates on Friday, so there will be much yelling of "ARRRRRR" much to Dan Alsop's delight I am sure.

First question from a 5yr old girl:
"What are those cushions for?"

She meant the buoyancy bags!

Mags,

Now, are you quite positive they were not cushions left in the boat testament to all those little "power naps" you take which i'm sure you told me about!!

We had one of our junior members in our Merlin the other week:-

I'd asked that no-one use the foredeck to stand on...
1st question "where else can I not stand" --- me anywhere else.
2nd question:- "looks nice - it's wood - how do you stop it rotting?"

eventually (turning to her dad - we were 2 1/2 up) "can we have one!"
