Could someone remind me the length and thickness of a spinnaker halyard

15 metres or thereabouts buy 16 and cut to lemgth, 3-4mm dia.

Use Marlow Excel Racing 4mm if you are not crewing, 5mm if you are!

On the new Driver/CST mast,the halyard is 4mm dyneema tapered to 2.5mm for the section that stays in the mast when the spinnaker is hoisted.Similarly the main halyard is the same taper/rope but the 4mm is used for the part in the mast when the mainsail is hoisted.Dyneema is lighter than other ropes,does not absorb water cleats well and is very low stretch.

Excel racing is the rolls royce. Most people use 4mm 8 plait as it will easily take the load...
