Topic : Vintage Merlins at Datchet

Just a quick thank you to the Vintage arm for turning up to the recent De May event. Our members really enjoyed seeing such beautiful classics. Their still trying to get there heads around some 30 year old boats with carbon rigs and latest sails, but hey what the hell.

Sorry the wind was a little strong and the sun didn't show much, next time we will lay on better (ideal) weather. Hope everyone enjoyed the day.

On behalf of those at Tamesis Club who took part, many thanks to Datchet for putting the event on. Despite the cold and wet conditions, the sailing was great and made a change from the close quarter variety experienced on the Thames. I'm sorry there wasn't a larger fleet but, as you say, the weather was far from ideal for some of the classics who had made the journey. It would be great to return next year, perhaps later in the season when the weather may be kinder. There's also a short report on the Tammy website.
