Topic : Merlin 2859

Wondered if anyone know of the where abouts or the history of 2859, Rowsell built Ghost Rider I think. I owned it for a couple of seasons in the 80's, sailed it at Helensburgh in Scotland then sold it to someone on the east coast I think.

just curious

thanks

According to the 1975 year book MR2859 originally called 'FINIS' is a Gregory designed Ghost Rider built in 1973 or more probably 1974 by her first owner J E Finney, 2 The Chase, Honiton, Devon and Exe SC.
The 1977 YB shows a new owner as P W L Stait, Hellidon, Nr Daventry, Northants NN11 6LG and Banbury SC.
By 1980 the owner had moved to 3 Bond Close, Horwich, Bolton, Lancs and Bolton SC.
I regret my 1981 YB has been lost but the 1982 book shows the owner A Lawrence, 38 Forbes Rd, Edinburgh and Royal Findhorn.
By 1986 her name had been changed to 'Wide Vehicle'and she was owned by G Busby, 1 Dhuhill Drive East, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire.
In 1989 she was owned by D Dunlop, 16 Craighouse Gardens, Edinburgh and Port Edgar.

I am sorry but looking at later year books shows no further owners.
I have spoken with Spud Rowsell. He can't remember the boat so the year books are probably correct in recording that it was built entirely by her first owner.
