Topic : Repair advice needed

I have recently discovered a 30 cm long split in the keel od 3133, starting below the mast foot and ending two feet from the bow. You can only see the split with the hull upturned and it is sufficiently wide to get a putty knife in. I think my best option (once the hull is dry) is to pack the crack with thickened epoxy and then strengthen with screws (although I do not think they will close the crack). I am assuming the trianglation of forces with shrouds and mast are now too much for the 30 yr old hull. The bigger question is how can I strengthen the hull without adding an expensive space frame? I am not racing any more, just pottering. I live in the US so a trip to Chipstow Boatward is not possible and the friendly post race advice from other MR sailors non-existent. 3133 has an interesting shroud setup....no levers but the shrouds are taken through the deck and secured to the hog gust below the mast foot. Help / advive gratefully received for a boat that has spent 18 years as a great ambassidor for the class here in the US and is not quite ready for the viking funeral.
