How full is the resevoir now as 3 weeks ago it was not looking good?

British Waterways have been required to complete some important work to the ("downstream" side of the) dam before the end of March, as an independent engineer considered this a major safety issue. Water level has been lowered to 3metres below weir level to allow the work to take place.
There is still plenty of water and the reservoir is comfortably sailable. We have hosted successful Silver Tiller events in the past with the level not much above what it is at present. There is now a gently sloping sandy beach in front of the clubhouse - very convenient for rigging your Merlin and parking it between races - and we have marked out two shallower areas with buoys.
Unfortunately, we have just had to cancel the Topmast team racing on the Saturday due only to lack of entries. However, we have a top class PRO for the Silver Tiller on the Sunday and he and his team are looking forward to the event. I hope to see as many of you as possible on 30th March for the first Restricted Water meeting of the year, and Midland is pulling out all the stops to give you a great welcome.

Just a reminder. The Silver Tiller meeting at Midland will still take place on Sunday 30th March, but the team racing scheduled for the Saturday has been cancelled due to lack of entries.
See you Sunday.

Sorry I couldn't be there today - I trust it went well. Is there any chance someone could forward me a full set of results for the ST calculations?
Many thanks, Chris.

Great event - the wind blew from the right direction and the sun shone all day! Only 21 entries though, but not surpising in view of the the news of the low water level.
Top guys were there - Roger Gilbert, Mike calvert, Andy Davies, Glen Truswell, Julian Parry and Matt Biggs and the Leneys - and very competitive all the way down the fleet.
Results, report and piccies will be sent in the next couple of days.
