We are taking caravans and tents to a non caravan club nearby and that was filling up a month ago ie no extra large fully serviced pitches left. I would get in quick after all this is the height of the Cornish holiday season and peak time for grockle infestation!

I believe it is called Tencreek, they have a mixture of static and touring pitches.

I suggested the Caravan Club site and avoiding Bay View. Nothings's really near and they all seem dear.

Tencreek is £18 a night for unserviced small tent pitch and still has reasonable number of available pitches.
Any other recommended sites? Car sharing for drinking companions springs to mind! I know Julie and Rien intend to camp

We are staying at westwayland caravan park and are paying £10 PN for an elec hook up pitch. It is less than half a mile from the club too I think.

My research suggests all of the campsites are well out of town and West Wayland is in Barcelona a couple of miles west of Looe.

You may be right I looked at so many! But Barcelona sounds good to me!!

Westwayland looks good and is cheap and quiet. Is getting into Looe from the West a problem? I think there is a ferry accross harbour does this run to a sebsible time? I did the ISO nationals in 97 and seem to remmber you can cross the harbour by foot at mid to low tides?

Ferries are available, but it's not that far to walk round and over the bridge. Obviously by throwing out time there won't be any ferries, but you're less likely to care!
