Who's been a naughty boy?
while unfortunately Barnes/Nicolson were disqualified for passing between a freighter and the guard boat.
Bet you don't do this with your new Merlin!

Actually we did not. When I asked the RO on Sunday who reported us for this demenor, he was not sure as it was reported directly to the office by one of the safety boats other than gaurd boats or so he and I believe. We crossed at 200 - 250 m. with kite up in force 5 and ran parallel to the vessel at about 150 m. no closer than 75m. to any guard boat (as a Master Mariner, I know the problems and therefore wanted it sorted). As it was the Practise race and had lost it when we had a choice of a 3 sail reach into the Marina (if you know the place, instant suicide) whilst dropping kite in a force 6 or the other option bale out as we did (leaward mark was 30 m. from the entrance!) and tombstone the boat on its transom. Had it been the race proper, we would have persuded the case for reinstatement. We were along way ahead at the time and well clear fo the fleet and shipping movements. Oh and at the leaward amrk, would love to have been in a Merlin doing 10 knots rather than the end of a rack doing 20+ knots.

So what happened on sunday to the B14's, no mention other than the Saturday when Chris won. I guess it was a little lighter?
Hope to see you at Brightlingsea for our open.....if you can borrow a boat.

We had a delay of 40 minutes in our start due to recalls and the wind dropped and tide turned against us.
Many were suprised that the Buzz's were that quick compared to the MPSs and B14s. Alas another year.
