MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Topmast Trophy & Wembley Silver Tiller

All of the info including NOR, Entry Forms, and Sailing Instructions are now posted under the relevant events for the Topmast Trophy (last year at Wembley!) and the Sunday Silver Tiller.

Entries for the Topmast are limited so be speedy in persuading your fellow merlin-rocketers to come and tussle the trophy away from those Shoreham Sea Sailors (what do they know about tacking on the shifts??!)

If you're planning to be at the inlands the w/e before you're welcome to leave your boats at Wembley - just let us know and we'll secure some space!

Pity. A whip round for new ones?

I can only assume by the unidentified contributions that they were taken and we're not going to see them again, which we'd sort of hoped not to be the case.

They were bought with club funds, which for most clubs are limited, and are derived specifically through memberships. Its all a bit sad really because essentially it means that in the future clubs/people are going to be reluctant to do this kind of stuff, which would be a shame!

For those who might be needing accomodation for the night of the 6th October, you could try the following which are all really near:

(Based on 2 adults sharing)

Ibis London Wembley from £29.75 pp
Travelodge Wembley Hotel from £30 pp
Wembley london Plaza from £41.60 pp
Holiday Inn Brent Cross from £62.50 per room

Sadly not enough grass for camping at WSC that doesn't have a boat on it (and you'd have to share it with the geese)

All teams must bring their own protest flags!!!

One red and One yellow.

The best and cheapest way of doing this is to have a bit of each colour material attached to each end of a piece of bungee or string which the crew can attach to their buoyancy and can wave vehemently if necessary at the umpire (hopefully not too much of that!)

Where will the bowling be on Sat evening?

Posted: 03/10/2007 16:19:36
By: BillB
Sadly no...had problems booking lanes and was going to be a take your chance night so we've opted for a local hosetellerie in Crouch End - not far from Wembley.

Where in Crouch End?

By: BillB
Will probably be either The Queens on Tottenham Lane, or The Kings Head on The Broadway. Both sell a good selection of top-notch beer!

Posted: 04/10/2007 15:54:44
By: R Kelly
Yes. They are the only decent pubs in the area. I remember them well from some years ago.

Clearly crews were not needed as the wind was so light! Not ideal for the Y&Y report though.
