Topic : Pyefleet Week

With one day to go the Merlins are doing well in the handicap fleet. 5 Merlins have entered from the very old to 3 new Merlins this year. Jacko has made his normal slow start which included a very big capsize in front of the club house however yesterday he found the GO button and put in a 1st and 3rd in very windy conditions. Ozzie (3686) also had an exciting time yesterday having sailed a great race and being a boat length from the finish line and his rudder stock decided to part company with his boat! With one more race today Craig (3688) who also went swimming just short of the line yesterday, is 3 points ahead of Jacko so all to play for in the last race. Merlins are 1,2,3 at the moment in the handicap series.

The best sailing of the week came on Friday with lighter winds and some sunshine. The race was won by the RS200 followed by Craig Bond in the Merlin and Jacko taking 3rd place. This left the overall results as Craig in 1st place, followed by Jacko 2nd. Ozzie dropped out of the results as he could not sail Friday due to his rudder. All in all a good week for the Merlins.
