Quick question for all the DIYers out there. How long are your jib-sheets and how long is the tapered bit?

I'm looking at replacing the sheets on our NSM2: the current ones at 6.4m seem a little short - they run up from the track through the side deck and across the boat - back down the other side etc.
(have I just described a bowline?).

Obviously, I don't want yards of excess string (sorry, metres), but I don't want to have it all in tension.

Depends if you want to allow enough for those rare 2-sail reaches where the crew has to get right back - that needs a bit extra.

I reckon about 8m to allow for those 2 sail reaches with 3/4m of taper...
