Topic : Where do you get one of these?

I want to make up a jib tension system but can't find anywhere to get one of the triple blocks with a hook - don't need the modified version though - just as it comes. Can anyone tell me the supplier? Thanks

Can't you just buy the hook seperately, and connect it to the loop on the block?

Maybe that's the way as I could only see a single block complete with the hook

Garry, this block isn't available any more. IT's a 20mm Holt block. Holt, nor anyone else, does this type of block with an integral hook.
If length of block+hook is an issue then perhaps a Ronstan block with the top loop cut off (remove shackle)and a hook bolted through the existing hole.

Tony

Hi gary, i am planning on using an harken kicker assembley from my my old contendet to do a similar job.

i was just going to use a hook normally used for spin poles and tie it to the top of the blocks so it would hook onto the job halyard.

will see if it works, might need a stronger hook but not sure where to get one.

It will break or bend.

There are blocks with up to 450kg strength

Have to find a hook strong enough but once you go down that road it might be as cheap to get a muscle box? Thoughts?

Muscle boxes are horrible things. No travel and tons of friction unless faultlessly maintained.

However, if you have an old muscle box, take it apart and use the hook to combine with one of those old Holt triple-blocks that you can disassemble?

The only muscle box still available is from RWO and only has plain plastic sheaves. The old Harken ones were pretty good and there must be loads of those hanging around garages etc.
Hook required is either a welded one or one made from one piece of stainless. Holt do them. The hole is either in line with the hook or at 90degrees. 8-9 quid from memory...

Never had a problem with my muscle box. It is just like the pulley arrangement, it may not have as much travel, but how much do you need?

i have a muscle box on my older boat which is going to the Nationals.

Bring your older boat too, and I will show you mine!
