Topic : What facilities does Pwllheli SC have?

Can anyone who's been to Pwllheli before help me: I'm trying to work out what facilites are at PSC so I know what to expect. For example, are the changing rooms large/secure enough to leave sailing kit overnight, or will it have to be taken back to where we're staying? Are the showers going to be enough for 160+ sailors all coming off the water at the same time?
Many thanks for the help.

Hugh,

Pwllheli SC is a purpose-built site for National, European, and Worlds Regattas. It’s just been certified as an official Olympic training base too. For example: - In the weeks before the Merlins arrive it’s the venue for the Cadet Worlds with 200+ boats already entered.

As with most clubs I’m sure you can leave your wet gear in the changing rooms overnight (at your own risk) and I believe they’re locked overnight after the cleaner has been in. Predictably, the pong in the morning has to be experienced to be believed.

I can’t guarantee no queuing if 160 Merlin sailors (80+ boats!) turn up at the showers at exactly the same time however, the same could be said of any Merlin venue and in any case, I’d imagine the free real ale on tap from the beer barrels in the marquee every day might have a staggering effect on traffic heading towards the showers (male & female!).

email me if you have any questions.
