Topic : Traitor?? NOT??

Help me out my dear friends?? Shame to see an old boat go to waste, so whilst chatting to one of my shop customers who used to sail a 505 she told me it had sat in her families front garden for the last 7 years!! I offered to take it off their hands free of charge, so now after dear Dad (happy birthday yesterday) has fixed the trailer I now have a 20/30 ish year old 505 that is for sale?? Anybody know what it is worth?? Plastic hull, good nick, metal mast but sails shagged?? Not really trying to make a fast buck but always nice to see a booat on the water again as oppossed to collecting leaves?? Cheers ALLLEEEEZZZZ!!!! Rock on Salcombe!!

Try the 505 site, deducing from the add below, maybe about a £1000.

Its only worth a grand if its still stiff and reasonably light, who made it?and what is the sail number? it is also worth pointing out that some of the ones for a grand have the new monster kite set up

Parker 25 at a guess, does it have a wooden deck and centre board capping? Depending on the rig and foils it'll be worth anywhere between £300-£800 at best. Had an old P25 sail no.69xx about 10 years ago that sold for circa £1k, that was in great condition cosidering her age. Odly the best place to advertise an older 5oh is on the French Association website, that's where mine eventually sold.

Mr Woods ~ or should that be Count Woods!! AHAH

I think you might be sussed. Judging by your forum posting activity (usually well into the small hours), and the fact that I spent most of Sunday driving past your house (trips to the tip..) and all curtains were drawn until at least 3pm ... You dont like garlic or church .... I deduce that you sir are a vampire!

Defend yourself Count Woods.

5995 is pre Parker 25, approx 1980 vintage condition is everything as with all older dinghies, have a good check around the mast step. i had 5816?(minds gone blank!) when she was 7/8 years old and the fore & aft support under the step collapsed, making for a very carefull sail to the beach. This was pretty common for that mark, apart from the number they are fairly easily recognised by a relatively small apature in the main bulkhead (approx18") The 25's had a far bigger access probably 3' x 2'. that said if shes unpainted & in apparently good nick then well worth sailing. check out P&B for set up sheet she would almost certainly of been rigged with a Proctor D in what was refered to as the 'Pre-bent set up'
As for value again it all comes down to condition but £600-£700 would be pretty fair, I was offered my last 50 number 7806 which was a 85 boat back for offers on £300 which kinda suggests the state shes in! Anyway good luck there great boats, all the best Barry.
