I am having another meeting with the Harbour Master on Wednesday where we will be discussing the numbers for the week. Currently there are 14 boats on the waiting list and I am still getting calls asking if there is space on the entry list...................

I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

John - Unless the HM is prepared to narrow the fairway and make the line longer, I don't think we want any more boats on the start line, it can get pretty hairy when there is a breeze (as you know)... especially at low tide

Easy for me to say as I have an entry but I also like my gunnels the way they are i.e. attached to the boat.

would love to see 100 boats as it would make an even greater advert for the class and if everybody brought their dogs it would be fantastic fun

Megan and Dudley, your wish has been granted. That very nice Harbour Master who lilves in the kennel on Whitestrand thinks that it would be very nice to see 50 Merlins playing tag gunwhale on the start line this year!

So its official, the entry is now 100 boats for this year split into 4 flights of 25 boats and that the top 8 boats on the waiting list are being offered places!
