I need to replace a worn cleat which is rivoted onto a carbon mast. How do you remove the rivots? Is it a case of drilling them out?
Many thanks for any tips.

Yep,
Just drill out the centre of the rivet and the whole thing should come away!
Make sure you use a drill bit the same size as the opening of the head of the rivet.

An after thought......
Rivets and carbon don't always get on without some sort of backing palte for re-enforcement. Check out what is there already.

If it's a superspar or proctor chances are it's just riveted. Proceed as suggested.
If its a chipstow i believe alan glues them on as well - i'd speak to him before proceeding!!

Many thanks for the help. It is a superspars mast with a carbon sheath as it is a tank stepped mast, so will be careful.
cheers
