Got it, love it. No wonder Chris was impressed, there's some great shots of his boats especially Iska (6) with her cotton sails outside the Houses of Parliament.
Thanks to Demelza and all who helped make it it's a wonderful souvenir.

Will there be a Tideway race in 2007. or was this a "special"

Saw the CD and would love to participate in this race if it is to be held again.

I looked on the 2007 calander but could not see it.

Many thanks
EdD

Note it is a DVD not a CD so may not work on your PC if you don't have a DVD drive but works fine on the TV with a DVD player!

EdD,

I'll try and answer your original question!

The Tideway Race was organised to celebrate the MR's 60th last year. The Tideway used to be an annual event for the MR in the 50's/60s (will no doubt stand corrected) but fell by the wayside over time, I suspect due to this ever changing PC world we live in! So in short I very much doubt there will be a repeat in 2007 of this event.

If you fancy a bit of Thames Sailing then pop down to Ranelagh SC in Putney although they don't sail all the way up to the Gurkin and back i'm afraid!

Many thanks for the reply Richard.

It was only when we saw the excellent DVD photos that we realised what we had missed.

I have only had my merlin for about 9 months, so didnt really appreciate that this was a one off event. Its a shame we missed it.

Perhaps the committee will consider a repeat event in future years. I am sure there would be enough interest.

Thanks again

Though not at the event, have enjoyed the DVD and think it an excellent medium to put the class over to the unitiated. It shows not only the modern boats but also the vintage wing including Kate. Think you should get a license for the stand and show it by projector on a screen at the Dinghy Exhibition.
Well done to all involved.
Bye for now.
PS we did one in the B14s in 2003 for the Nationals and showed it at Ali Pali in 2004 and therefore understand the amount of work involved, but it was very well received.

Agree last comment wholeheartedly. DVD is brilliant and an inspiration to me to get my 33 year old September Girl into shape to compete with the older veterans, maybe Kate even, next year.
