I got a typhoon one from a place in Norwich. Front zip and a free undersuit. Excellent got delivered to Aberdeen the next day. You can find them on the ebay link below but you can also phone them. £199 and postage free. I know a few who have had them and they have all been pleased.

Phone 01692 406679 or email [email protected]

Just to let you know that I have nothing to do with the company - this is a personal recommendation.

If you are not a standard size (44 chest 6 foot 2 for instance) try Trident, they are very helpful and and do sizes like 'medium broad' for us short plump people, and make them up to measure if required.

Nothing to do with me, but have bought a total of 7 drysuits for them over the years as the family have grown up.

Hammond make indestructable drysuits - I've still got the one I bought 15 years ago! It's getting a bit tight now though...

Hers came from Crewsaver, via the Dinghy Store at Datchet, she is happy.
Mine is coming from Trident..due to my "non-standard sizing requirement"....Trident were very helpful and seemed to understand what I meant by "City Cut"

What with sweat etc., I always thought "dry suit" was a bit of an oxymoron I hate wet suits so call me old fashioned but I prefer an all in one or two part "fitted" waterproof. Each to his own.

):- either you haven't tried out a dry suit for many years (they're nearly all breathable now you know) or you sweat far too much!
Or maybe your not using it as it was intended (ie. for sailing in) ;)

You are correct I have not tried one for years however I do not sweat I perspire - Horses sweat, nor as a ladies do I merely glow. But I deny any other activity than sailing in the one I had.

can recomend the typhoon breathable back zip - and i recently bought a gill I4 pair of thermal trousers- up to the chest with braces, which gives more control over what you wear on top. the one piece suits seem great if you need allover warmth but can be a bit much especially on the arms.

end of the day, the best suit is the one which fits you comfy

With regards to sweating inside a drysuit the mistake most people make is not wearing the correct undergarments. Jeans and a T shirt are not the right things to wear. In fact no natural fibre is good. A good manmade wicking base layer with a fleece teddy bear or similar is the stuff....
