Time for an end of season clear up on the equipment and boats for sale lists. I'll do an email round in the next day or so, but if anyone has bought or sold a boat, suit of sails or whatever can they please drop me an email or phonecall?
Likewise if you know that a boat has definatley been sold from your club can you let me know?
As an aside, we have a list of equipment wanted that seems hardly ever to be used. If people want something they tend to post on the main forum and have an answer within hours which is great. So do we actually need a list of equipment wanted? Your thoughts please.
Thanks in anticipation!
Chris

Email addresses on this website are protected against spambots by a cunning script. Humans can still read them (and bad humans can use them for spam) but the automated bots that 'harvest' addresses off a site will get nothing here.

Very clever, I was going to say that I have used my e-mail address here freely for years and I get virually no spam on it. I'm quite annoyed cause I don't know where to get Viagra from :-)

The Merlin cut its mast from 25' to 22'6" years ago - are we wanting to make it longer again?

Or a Rolex watch and with all this clever stuff Mags is depriving me of my regular $1,000,000 weekly win on the Nigerian lottery!!!

I don't think it's a case of making the mast longer but helping it stay up longer.

Most of my recent spam has the simple subject "Re: Hi". This would be a very clever ploy if they didnt couple it with names like "Margarito Baxter".

Chris just a thought what about putting SOLD at an angle across say the sail number of 'sold' boats apart from wasted calls it would show the secondheand list works & that there is an active secondhand market? as I say just a thought, regards 3236(sold) Barry.

I like that idea.
Mags is that possible? Could that be set up so that after 7 days of been marked sold it deletes itself?
What do others think?

As a recent convert to the class, I couldn't see how to post a 'wanted' ad on the site, or a 'for sale' one for that matter. Couldn't find any instructions on how to do it or who to contact either. It might get more use if it were easier to post to, and if the member posting the ad could remove it when the item was sold or the need fulfilled it may be quite slick. The webmaster could still delete inapropriate postings. Personally I like the idea of a separate area for sales and wants, and it doesn't choke up the main forum - to keep a 'wanted' ad current and in the main viewing area it needs to be posted to or repeated regularly or it goes into archive - this wouldn't happen in the 'wanted' section.
