If you get rid of potential discards, its a 3 horse race. The top 3 all have 7 points each.

How many discards are you allowed over the whole week and does it finish on Friday?

10-1 the winner comes from Hollingworth Lake!

Finishes Friday- if all races are sailed then one discard is allowed.

Frank Warren came 6th in 1955 and 1957 - well done Will -seeyou when you sober up ( some time in October Probably )

Frank Warren was one of the original members of SMYC and a very early keen Merlin sailor. He came 6th twice, once with Dorrie (his wife) and then with John Smith. I sailed with him in 1962 and Alan 'stole' me from him in 1963. Frank decked Krakatoa from a hull built by Rowsell in the winter of 66. So yes, 3 generations of Warrens have been 6th or better in the champs.

Hi all thanks for everyone's congratulations, it means a lot. I hate to correct anyone but I think Martin beat me to being the 3rd generation in the top 6. I was also 6th at whitstable with rachel crewing me a few years ago, so that has been a long beaten record. However I am sure that no one has had 2 generations win the national title!!

That was quite a week at Whitstable - we deserved 1st for being the most drunken team there all week and managing to pull it out the bag on the water.
Sinking 10 tequilas in a row on my 19th birthday mid week was a definate highlight although what happened after I still have no idea about to this day!
