Topic : Shoreham This Weekend

In the absence of the traditional Shorham event just prior to the National's I am feeling empty and hollow!!

Is anyone interested in going there for a race on Sunday regardless??

Perfect 15 knots is forecast. (Honestly - See Wind Guru)

PS: Well done to Winder & Jilly at Salcombe!!! (The jammy little toe rag/Jonny Vegas look alike)

Good idea there chief.

There are already quite a few heading on down so hopefully there'll be some stiff competition. 2 races on sunday with 11.00 kick off, only an hours drive from London on a Sunday, well worth the trek.

Calling Glen. If the name, Ben Yeats, means anything from Contender days, he sends his regards. Currently sailing an RS300 on the Inner Moray Firth, the best sailing water (and the least crowded) in Britain.

Beach party at shoreham this saturday, now that sounds like the sort of place that needs me,

Also Alex and Rac my dear friends , You are both young and fit so I have a question for you

I know there are a few people looking for crew for the nationals, Do you think
I could lose enough between now and then to make the grade ?
Or shall I pray for lots of big waves and wind and then put myself
on ebay as heavy crew and see who bids the highest ?

Love you all

Sorry Tony but your only hope is for wind and waves.. or if its light you could take an I14 and go singlehanded. No-one will ever know!!

I think you're all being a little unfair to assume that William's fat friend is Tony. I'm sure he has lots of fat friends!

Don't know about that, i could have been a lot more scathing towards Wazzer Jnr, you wait till the Nationals report, he's inline for a right slamming.

I didn't count Alex as one of my many, many friends before that report anyway.

Dear Winking Prawn,

Am I to take it that you are suggesting that I maybe be a little porky ?

If so I have dug out a couple of photos of you to measure myself against you in a before and after type way : )

It was a terrible shame that so many folk missed an awesome sail at Shoreham yesterday.

Sunny 16 - 22 knots with knarly Shoreham waves.

Sadly the pace set by old man Warren was setting in the second race was too much for the beaver brothers who opted for a swim to cool off!!

If we ever held a Nationals at Shoreham and the breeze was up, I know where my money would be!!

Well done Alan, look forward to seeing you all a Tenby.

I can't believe Barnsie is making a come back(Good lad)although I wonder if his new boat is maggot free??

Glenn,

Could not agree more. Really was Shoreham at its best, sunny, warm sea, windy and massive surfing waves. What better prep for a windy champs.

Just shows how well the winged rudder works in those conditions. Not sure we really had in adjusted right for that last beat, but really kept the bow out down wind.

Bring on Tenby!

Liam

Are you serious about a a boat for £1K for the Nationals, as 3394, WAPB, aka the Pink Boat from the front of the Dinghy Show mag, Inland Bala boat over 10 year old prize winner, designed to carry weight, is sitting on it's combi with no one to use it. Got rid of most of the leaks but still needs one sorting, but it is minor.

Winged rudder, so that's how you survied down that last run. Both Glen and I buried ours bows fully under and went paddling. Don't think Dave will sit that far forward again in those conditions! Was great stuff with reaches to die for :)

More of the same next week please.
