Sadly my Oakleys went missing from the beach mid last week. Think they probably fell out of bag. They are blue Oakley Minutes with red lenses. Boat was in middle of the pack at the time. |
Also lost, green Oakleys with gold lenses, last seen on brothers cute blonde crew before capsize. |
At the risk of touching a raw nerve, there must be something about that bit of briny that likes those Oakley's Alex... |
For Sale nearly new sunglasses |
Post some photo's and if shes really cute I'll buy you some sunglasses!!!!!!!!! |
Found whilst diving in Salcombe Harbour, green Oakleys with gold lenses. How tall is blonde crew? |
Also lost, midnight blue Oakleys last seen sinking to bottom of Thames near Hampton Sailing club |
Haven't you people ever heard of string? |
Clearly a design issue with Oakleys. http://www.merlinrocket.co.uk/gallery/view_photo.asp?folder=gallery/open_meetings/salcombe/2006&file=salcombeopen2006_fullers.jpg |
I hardly think this picture is a good advert for Vuarnet. Real bling and a pair of Oakley's and it just wouldn't have happened. |
Don't dis my sponsors :-) |
Oakleys are $10 glasses selling at £120. Go to woolworths for the best value! |
...or try Gill ones polarised and floating for £29.99 |
is cute blonde crew male or female |
Re: the string to retain sunglasses, it can get to the stage of strangulation trying to keep them rather than lose them if they get caught in the spinnaker |
It's not the sunglasses design , clearly a pin head with the ears in the wrong place !! |
Thats why you dont use a loop (strangulation) but just one piece of string from one side of glasses, to the bouyancy aid. |
I've worn glasses all my sailing life, never needed a safety string and just about the only silly thing I've never done is lose my specs! Broke a pair last weeek falling over in my wine merchants, yes, but SO FAR avoided sailing mishaps, perhaps it's because if you are a spec's wearer and thus they are made to fit they do fit better! Especially now we older guys a girls need vari-focals, Robert Harris might have a view too. |
True my Vuarnet glass were supplied by an optician, who carefully adjusted the arm sto fit my ears. |
Ah - but Oakleys (apparently) have a little logo which the fashionistas (but certainly not me beause until two days ago I had never heard of them) can recognise at 100yds which also means if someone finds a lost pair you have no chance of ever getting them back. |
The one advantage of Oakley's are they are so fashionable you can buy exact replicas for £5 in Turkey, China, New York etc. so you can have 60 pairs for the price of one pair at Sunglass Hut. |
Maths! 24 pairs, sorry! |
Just checked, and the sunglasses I have been wearing for the last two years are Oakleys, I wear them rain or shine sailing and never had a problem with them coming off. (must have the right shaped head) |
Spooky I sailed my boat yesterday evening and what did I find in the bottom, my Oakleys. Very strange as went missing mid last week and sailed the boat loads since then. Where did they go...... |
Ross - I should approach the company with this really spooky story and who knows - a massive sponsorship deal? Or perhaps a £25 cheque from Reader's Digest Life's Like That section?!! |
Are you sure they just didn't drop off the head of a crew, into your boat, that was trying to violently luff you? |
Ive always found that its the cheap glasses you keep for years. The expensive ones dissapear almost overnight. |
I just squint, allot cheaper then sunglasses. |
But not good for your eyes or the "Crows Feet" |
