Is any one prepared to part up with a copy of The Merlin Rocket Book? Jamie |
I suppose that given a sufficient financial incentive any of us would part with our copy. Mine's a bit special as it has the signatures of both Jack Holt and Ian Proctor plus four class champions and several other class luminaries on the flyleaf. |
Thank you Robert - I've been doing some research on a potential Jack Holt biography and the Merlin book seemed like some essential reading - if I can get hold of a copy. Happy to pay a sensible price but really don't want to get the 'can't afford not sell' area. It may be that someone will know of an unloved or surplus copy. |
Jamie i have been looking for a copy for ages after throing my old copy away years ago (after selling my smokers) second hand copiesare fetching a fortune on amazon and i doubt any merlin owners wpuld be looking at selling or GIVING a copy of the class herritage away |
Swindon library has a copy available for inter-library loan. |
Abebooks.com currently carries more second hand titles than Amazon. They have two copies, both for around $250 each. This clearly has more to do with book collecting than reading them! Jamie |
Well, I'm not the famous actor (he's dead) and I'm not the famous writer (he's much, much richer than me) so maybe I'm the one you're thinking of but I don't remember being famous. |
Has MROA looked at having it reprinted on behalf of the assoc - there are internet publishers who would do small publishing runs and I am sure that many people would be willing to pay a reasonable amount (say £25) to have a copy (perhaps even electronic) - it may even provide some funds for MROA. |

I have researched the printing costs. Must badger the committee about it... |
