Is any one prepared to part up with a copy of The Merlin Rocket Book? Jamie

I suppose that given a sufficient financial incentive any of us would part with our copy. Mine's a bit special as it has the signatures of both Jack Holt and Ian Proctor plus four class champions and several other class luminaries on the flyleaf.

Thank you Robert - I've been doing some research on a potential Jack Holt biography and the Merlin book seemed like some essential reading - if I can get hold of a copy. Happy to pay a sensible price but really don't want to get the 'can't afford not sell' area. It may be that someone will know of an unloved or surplus copy.

Regards Jamie

PS. My Merlin's got a longer mast than yours!.... and a lot more side deck...

Abebooks.com currently carries more second hand titles than Amazon. They have two copies, both for around $250 each. This clearly has more to do with book collecting than reading them! Jamie

PS. Could that have been the real Robert Harris - I mean the one who was famous in the last century?

Well, I'm not the famous actor (he's dead) and I'm not the famous writer (he's much, much richer than me) so maybe I'm the one you're thinking of but I don't remember being famous.

Has MROA looked at having it reprinted on behalf of the assoc - there are internet publishers who would do small publishing runs and I am sure that many people would be willing to pay a reasonable amount (say £25) to have a copy (perhaps even electronic) - it may even provide some funds for MROA.

Jamie,

You can get copy extracts of up to 10% from the British Library or get a Readers Pass and read it at all the British Library.
