Topic : Glueing LDPE

I want to glue a little block of LDPE foam to the front-inside-bottom of my centreboard case to stop the board from bashing itself against the wood.

I have some LDPE foam from some laptops we've bought and wonder what glue to stick it with. Does anyone have any good ideas please?

I may of course be able to just ram an oversize bit in there which will never move but glue is preferable.

How about a slug of silicone sealant to stick it in with? Combined with a tight fit should do it. At least that is solvent free and the foam won't melt!

You could always put a stop on the handle of the board, 2X Doorstops + a bolt, same function less hassle.

I would steer clear of silicone on a boat especially under water as it quickly breaks down (I had a very expensive claim against me after using silicone to join a non standard size bath trap to a plastic drain pipe which was fine for a year and then ruined a lounge ceiling !!!!!!! ) Much better is a polyeurothene (not sure of the spelling) glue in the usual gun type tube which is used to fix a product called 'forget ply' to walls before tiling in a bathroom. (you should be able to buy it from a decent tile shop) It is extraordinary stuff, I used it to fix a load of holes on my Jurrasic Laser and it works perfectly. it needs water to go off so once you have filled the hole that needs filling or put the two things together that need sticking together you chuck a bucket of water over it and it sets hard in 5 minutes.
