Rutland approaches - Hooray hoorah whoopee!!!! Is this anyone elses highlight of the sailing calendar or is it just me? 4 days of: "Get you weight forward Jon", "Your boats not flat", "Get your head out of the boat"......
I can't wait, Tiger beer, High Jinks, getting better, going faster, class chairman in my boat pulling strings (that's very cool indeed), Mike Calvert taking my crew out for a sail - (crew likes this a lot) Fun races (actually totally just for fun, not serious), meeting lots of merlin people, hearing merlin tales, chasing canterbury tales, red faced video viewing.

There is also a swanky party to look forward to on Sunday night. I know how the Merlin fleet are keen on posh dress, delicate food, light conversation and immaculate behaviour, so make sure you take something nice to wear, and enjoy:
-good quality buffet
-dancing
-very good cabaret entertainer
all for £17.

Just found out some more info about the party. Apparently the entertainer is renowned for getting everyone up dancing, adjusting the style of party to the guests needs!
The menu seems quite tasty:

It is not a loud band or disco - a bit more sophisticated with a good repertoire. There will also be dancing music. We have moved the meals around so that people can have a cheap meal on the Friday night - eat from the Servery or go out on the Saturday - and attend the dance on the Sunday. That way it won't seem so expensive, we have kept the price low on purpose. We shall be selling tickets tomorrow morning.
