Topic : Rescue boat policy

Does anyone know the rules/legalities/guidelines regarding rescue boat intervention in a capsize situation during a race?

Specifically at what stage if any can the rescue boat override the crews request to keep clear of the boat (thereby disqualifying the racer?)

rescue boat always has last word, better to be disqualified than dead.

Matter of judgement of conditions, water temprature, ability of crew, state of boat. Better to be safe than sorry if in doubt, pull em out.

Many clubs are now implementing hte TYA Guidelines that crew may be re-united with the boat by rescue crew without penalty; help in righting the boat is a retirement offence.

Don't tell Natt that, or she will push me out of the boat just after I hoist the kite at the start of the run, and then when approaching the leeward mark she will ask the rescue boat to reunite the crew with the boat.
