Topic : Sad sight

Copied from CVRDA site

Bummer:
Just when you're out somewhere, you see a sight worth recording and the digital camera is at home. Not that it was a pretty sight, a once proud Merlin left to rot, fordeck exposed to the elements and the midships sections full of ice.

The hog was clear at the stern though- the number, as far as I could make out, was 2497, built down in Bournemouth by Tony Lock.

Left there like that, in the elephants graveyard, another season would see it beyond repair and another good boat will bit the dust.
Anyone with any ideas on history of this boat - is it famous for anything? (not that this should be the only criteria for saving boats but it could help)
