A sailor is intent on upgrading his boat so goes to the shop to buy loads of go faster goodies. "I'll have half a dozen of the Haarken pullies, 20 yards of spectra string and a couple of those ratchet thingies." You're a RS200 Sailor aren't you?" says the shopkeeper. "How do know that?" "Cos this is a Greengrocers".

No Margaret's Father was a shop keeper but not a Grocer Ted's father was a builde/Carpenter and I think intensive captive breeding has ensured the survival of the Tory Party lets hope so at least most Tory scandals were about sex/lies and more sex, money is so sordid!

But Ted Heath was nicknamed "Grocer Ted" wasn't he? And sailed Morning Cloud

"Grocer Heath" in Private Eye anyway. Morning Clouds 1-5 it was no 3 sunk off Bognor in September 1974 taking with her Christopher Chad a one time Merlin Sailor on the Broads.

Remember it well. I did foredeck on Morning Cloud during Cowes week that year. A month later, returning from Burnham Week, she sank and the bits were washed up on Shoreham Beach. The club still has the coaming with 'Morning Cloud' written on it.

A greengrocer, as was the lone sailor Alec Rose.

You must be nearly as old as Alan Warren.
