Basically most 2nd hand winder plastic tales will be competitive, but any good Tales variant should be OK, about 3000- 5000 pounds, see 2nd hand list but thats not to say that older boats are that much slower, Tales are now quite an old design.

How much do you have and where will you be sailing?

The best designs just under £1000 are NSMs and Summer Wines, The wine arguably being the better of the two if you're sailing under 22 stone.

Chris, I think Tim is talking ten thousand rather than one thousand....

What do you have in the £7-£7.5 range that you could suggest?

Oops missed a zero!!

There are a couple of plastic Winders at £6200 and £6750.

There are quite a few cheaper wooden Tales' and derivatives up as well. They start at £2500, and i think they all have carbon rigs.
