MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : It's official...

Please welcome your new Treasurer! Colin Brockbank has bravely stepped in to take over all matters relating to money and membership from me. If you all treat him as kindly as you have me, he will be a very happy bunny and have as much fun as I have over the past 81/2 years!

That's 8 and 1/2 years, not 81 or 82 years, even if it feels like it...

Melza,
I would really like to add my thanks to you for all the work you have done too.
When I came to the committee as new boy and Chairman - they were desperate - I found your steady influence extremely reassuring.
You brought a light and amusing touch, while still keeping us on the monetary straight and narrow.
I also know how much work you did in combining the treasurer and membership rolls when you took over that part of the administration from Chris Clews.
Administratively the class is on a strong foundation due to your work.
I know you are not going far (apart from a holiday in Mauritius) so we will see you soon - which is also very nice to say considering a year ago the whole class was holding its breath waiting for bulletins about your chemotherapy.
While you were busy, getting better, Will did much of this work too- you both deserve all our thanks,
Pat

I couldn't agree more with Pat. I don't think our members realise quite how much work, effort and enthusiasm Demelza put into her job. I don't really know why she did it as she didn't race in the class - it must have been the intelectual challenge! We owe her an enourmous debt of gratitude, I certainly do as during my time as chairman I knew I didn't have to worry about money.

Enjoy your "retirement" Demelza - but please don't stop taking those fantastic pictures.

Thank you so much and have a great holiday.

John
