MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : What happened on New Years Eve....

Hi Everyone..

New Years had a fantastic twist to it this year.. lots of our friends joined us on our annual pilgrimage to Exmouth, Devon where we dress up in fancy dress and join the other 15'000 people on a pub crawl/beach party. This year with me dressed as a Brownie and Dave as a Mad Forensic Scientist he asked me to marry him on the beach.. I said yes!
The wedding is planned for Spring 2007 - we're ecstatic about it!

I think Louise Johnson has some video footage of when we got back to the party - that should be up to see soon..

Take care all and Happy Sailing!

Congratulations you 2- what a romantic time and place - and a cracking excuse for a party. I know that you don't argue now in a boat - merely exchange views -but will this change after 2007?

I always found that women get in the way of sailing anyway! Think my father found the same thing.

Maybe thats why i am still single?!

Or perhaps they don't like the smell of epoxy, varnish and complain about the interminable amounts of sawdust dragged into the house from endless restoration projects. This is a reason for remaining single rather than risk an acrimonious marriage.

My projects are all done in my parents garage so i get that from my mother.

But hey I am sure Dave and Rach will not have any of these problems! So best of luck again to both.

Nice picture huh!!

I think that its only fair that we should thank the Merlin Fleet for us being engaged to be married in Oct.

For was once upon a time.. two crews met through Merlins, back at Weymouth Nationals - 1999 I think it was.. when I was just a young 16yr old!! I resisted his charms with considerable ease (that and being under Wozza's watchful eye!) however the idea had been planted.. it took until Whitstable Nationals 2002 before we 'got together'. That was nearly 3.5 years ago since then we've lived in a tent around New Zealand for 6 months, sailed together and loving it all too - so...

Thank you Merlin Rocket Fleet!

Not only in the catalogue but the banner on the Y&Y website also has an image of Mr Bosnia morphing in varying forms of yachting attire
