Topic : Arrow Sails

I want to get a new set of sails for my plastic NSM 2 - superspars desk stepped mast, carbon pole, and was thinking about a set of Arrow sails. I had a new suit of Arrows for my GP this year, and they were excellent. However, what are they like for Merlins? What would people advise? Any advice gratefully received.

Justin at Starcross has some and he thinks they are brill. They look very good. Simon Blake and Linton have been using (and developing) them for the last couple of years...

Thank you for the help. Frankly, I don't think it will make much difference to my performance.

We had a suit for 2663 and they made a huge difference to the performance. We had deck stepped a proctor carbon mast on the boat. Now using the sails on 3663 and were 2nd at the Eskimo Trophy yesterday beaten by Richard Whitworth. Well worth investing in Arrow Sails.

Obviously quite good sails. Word of caution though is that they don't have anyone actively campaigning them at the front of the fleet, unlike P&B, No1 etc. Incidently, Simon and Linton were using P&Bs at Salcombe last year.

To clarify:

Linton and I developed and used a set of Arrow sails for Manana a year or two ago. I found Graham Nelson and co. at Arrow's very very helpful, and together we managed to develop a very fast set of sails for a price that was comparatively excellent. Previously we sailed with P&B's, and last year we sailed Salcombe with a set of P&B's because they came with the boat we borrowed.

Running the risk of sitting on the fence; in my opinion both sets of sails are very competitive, and service from both is superb. Or at least it was when I last sailed, and I am sure it still is.

Cheers.
