MERLIN ROCKET FORUM

Topic : Stolen

I know this is not Merlin related but I’m spreading the word around. My eight year old son bought an Optimist in September and a week ago we found that the mast(slight dent near bottom) ,boom, sprit and sail(pale blue and white sail no:K1477) has been stolen from Bolton sailing club.

If anybody has information on the whereabouts of these articles please contact Nigel Wrigley or Florence Wrigley on 01204 405555.

Also has anyone got any spars and sail to replace the ones stolen that they would sell.

You might find Chadwick Beecher-Moore of Holt-Allen would at least do a serious discount for such a sad story, people are bastards!

I wished I loved its silly face
And when I am introduced to one
I wish I thought what jolly fun" Sir Walter Raleigh!

As they did not steal a lifejacket it is my fervent hope that they capsize - but then my wishes don't always come true. I presume that they stole a blue sail because they couldn't get one in Burberry pattern?

Nigel,

E-mail me your address and I'll post up Jeremy's old sail - sounds a similar sort of vintage.

I doubt they are sailors your son's sail is probably adorning a Gay Bar somewhere. These are mindless sh**s who get their kicks hurtung others no amount of ASBOS will stop them. Something painful wouldn't either but we'd feel better - flogging never did me any harm! Come to think of it it did but there was less mindless vandalism in the 60's. Bring back the cane.

Sad to hear it.
I've got an old but sound mast and sprit at Whitstable.Would probably work with GGGG's sail. Email me if you want them.

Really grateful for the response. My son's face lit up when he was told of the offer of a sail. He was devastated when he realised his rig was gone.

There may be some awful people out there but the Merlin Rocket Owners Association has some kind and genuine people.
