Topic : The Magazine is out

Mine came today!

I am quite disappointed with the reproduction of some of the colour pictures. Particularly the covers, inside and out are much too dark.
I will try to sort it for the next issue.
That doesn't detract from the stuff inside - thanks to everyone who contributed.

Pat

Pat,

I believe my copy has also arrived today, according to the 'Thumb'. As always I am sure it is as good a quality as the last issue.

I know how you feel when you put some much into something like the magazine expecting perfection, only for someone else to let you down.

To the average eye, I am sure the picture repro quality is fine.

Well done.

Being new to the Association I found the content excellent; particularly the Spinaker handling articles.

I'll have to dig out my number for the archives!

Well done

the cover pic is inspirational - just look at the highlighted jibs, burgees and sparkle off the water! anticipate the tension - not too dark, just art!

The Hayling pics - great action! (though it shows the true value of trad film based photos!)

exc+++++ well done ed!

The mag arrived yesterday. It's brilliant. The pictures are stunning and it was wonderful to be reminded of the body on the beach story and the Chris Andrews obituary brought back memories of a kind man, good friend and a marvellous character who brought so much laughter wherever he went.
Well done and thank you to Alan and Pat.

Excellent as always - only one problem! I have been defending the class from the Millbay owners who were accusing us of using their beach signs as BBQ fuel! Doooh!!

Thanks for all your nice comments.
I particularly appreciate the comments on the photos - they did look better on my screen but... hey-ho.
Thanks again to all you writers and photographers.
If we are to keep it going I need more stuff......please!

John - do we have many members on Millbay? Not that that shot was on Millbay of course.
Perhaps Ian Stewart (race officer who disqualified Dave Winder and his son, Jamie, who was helming the boat to leeward that we can't read the number of)would be interested to see the front cover?
Respect!!

Certainly a great set of photos and articles. Thanks Pat for all your efforts. Certainly something to look forward to hitting the mat through the year and reinforces the fact that the Merlin annual sub is great value. Lang may your lum reek!!

I enjoyed reading the magazine and was impressed with the pictures. I think that some were taken by Demelza who seems to have a very good eye for the subject. I could not find the credits though. I particularly liked the shot of the spinnakers over the rocks as seen on the site.........John.

In agreement with all the above comments. Better read than dinghy magazine and i have to pay 3.60 a month for that!!!

Thanks for putting our article on 1781 in there Pat reads well and perhaps it may spark a bit of interest in it when people realise how much effort went in to it.

By the way people it is for sale!! See the list.
