Topic : Merlin 60th Birthday Bash

The cvrda site reported that there is to be a London event on 18th June 2006 as a 60th birthday celebration for Merlins. Could this be the biggest turnout of Merlins ever? Any more news of this and I can pencil it in the diary. Perhaps we can ask the Royal Navy if the Ark Royal could do a review of the Fleet!!

I thought I heard last weekend at Upper Thames SC that they intend to run a 60th birthday event similar to the very enjoyable 40th and 50th parties previously held there. I hope I heard correctly, can anyone else confirm it.

Ah but Mags so much chiselling and so many fingers to lose between now and June!!!! You'll need to quit working on the boat in April to avoid injury for the big day!! (And being the big three zero you don't heal so quickly!!)

Well I think you are all right.
After all 60 years is worth celebrating - anway we all like partying and sailing so who needs an excuse.
Tideway race from Ranelagh SC at Putney through the City of London and back is being planned for June 18th
and
A big party with Vintage and Silver Tiller events - plus talk of 40's big band with marquees etc at Upper Thames - in early September I believe?
Willy Warren is doing fixtures now and I am sure he will tell us the details when they are all sorted - details will be in the new magazine out next month!
