Only if there is a prize for crews over 45

and just in case GGGGG is approaching opr past that, let add male crews over 45 who crew female helms under 18. That should clinch it - if not add 'related by birth'.

There was a proposal in the mid sixties for just that though it was the prize for the crew who's name appeared on the trophy rather than an invitation to crews moving around,(It's hard enough to keep a crew these days, it was just a bottle of bubbly and then a vase in the same glass as the then decanters,(A Silver Trophy, (A spinnaker pole was considered too suggestive in the "swinging sixties") a cash sum was provided but it came I think to naught? A good idea especially if linked to the winning boat(s) and helmsman/woman.

How about the Silver Guy? Could be modelled/sculpted along the lines of the Oscar.

Silver Pole Sound good.

What about silver nappy for under 15 crews

or a silver wig for over 55's

and I'm not trying to be age'ist

Could'nt Silver Pole be taken in more than one context? I am sure i would get more than one comment when i told my friends i had won 'The Silver Pole Competition'!

Ellie life 'ain't fair! But I agree the loyal crew who sails, helps rig, reads sailing instructions, shares driving or map reads, even pays the odd bill for a whole season, just like the owner/hemsman should get a trophy, but I would caution against "odd ball" names, funny at the time but; when you too are old; would you want the f***?? trophy on your side board?
Think of your posterity.
"Silver Tiller Crews trophy" or perhaps named after a leading crew? Tony Fox?, Adrian Legg?, Ken Ellis?, or one of the more modern crews?

No ever said it was going to fair!

However

One or two of you have emailed with details that are not quite right on the list!
If your position is wrong - maybe you changed boat and I didn't notice or I was entering the results whilst drunk etc - please let me know and I will try to sort it ASAP
It will be a panic for us getting the results sorted at Parkstone so if you have corrections lets be knowing now.
Cheers,
Pat

After Richard and Ellie's win at Hollingworth this weekend - there is now only 0.1 between them and Glen and Davo.
Still 2 to go at Blithfield and Parkstone.
It hasn't been this exciting since.......?

Mr or Mrs Observer,
Maybe you you should be more interested.
It looks as if this competition is going to go to the line at Parkstone.
Even if Whitworth or Truswel win at Blithfield then the other could overturn that at Parkstone.
The interesting thing is that it is most likely that neither will win!
There seems to have been more Silver Tiller event winers this year than any year I can remember.
Is there any other class where there is such high quality racing nearly every weekend?
