Interesting oldish merlin used on "What the Ancients Did For Us" on BBC2 tonight to illustrate the square sail.  Anybody see it - know what it was?

Yes I saw it Jon, could have been a 9 or 9b. I noticed it had handles on the side. What a good idea!

Yes I saw it but thought the crew were sitting a little far aft.  The transom flaps had to be taped up st syop the water getting it.
