How very sad in better times Chris was a real life enhancer in MR's and National 12's, I recall him on the balcony of the Plymouth Guildhall at a gale infested Burton Trophy calling to the tourists to come inside and enjoy the Mayors party, wasn't it him who climbed the palm trees at Weymouth in 1966! He was allways the first to say well done, a good man and unlike many a sportsman too.

I'm so sorry to hear about Chris. I knew him for many years and used to crew for him when he brought his N12 to Ranelagh in the 50s. He was a competitive helmsman and had some goood championship results in the 60s. A great guy.

I'll never forget heaving him across the boat during tacks on 'round the island' 2002 with Al Warren and Barry Dunning on Board - a very funny day!
He was a sparkly man with a big smile.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Chris. He was a good loyal friend and wonderful company. Those lucky enough to sail with and race against him, will never forget his contributions to so many evenings' entertainments? We will all miss the vocal renderings and particularly the laughter. What a sad loss.
