Topic : Thames SC River Series cancelled / Minima Regatta

The river series event at Thames SC was cancelled last Sunday.

However this was a bonus for the Minima regatta taking place just downstream in Kingston with 3 travelling (from as far afield as Hampton and Tamesis) merlins who had turned up at Thames SC making up a total entry of 8 Merlins.

Prizes were presented by the Mayor of Kingston and the winning boat, 3560 Ollie Houseman received both the impressive Hilde Cup and the Thames SC trophy.
2nd was 3538 Ken Duffell and 3rd 1004 Mike Stephens.

And fourth was 3645 Blue Velvet (Dad and myself).

However, more importantly, it was a Tammy 1, 2, 3, 4 and there were 36 boats including Toppers, National 12s, Fireflies, Enterprises, Solos, Raters and, of course, Merlins out there up river from Kingston Bridge.

Sorry Natt, Barry and I were sailing in the Minima regatta. Came 2nd on the Saturday afternoon and 3rd on the Sunday morning. Only two races to count from three, hence we didn't sail the last race. We weren't competing for the Thames trophy.

I received a poster for this and it looks like being a Merlin event not to be missed -

New trophy - Eric Archer Memorial Trophy
