Check out the vids including much merlin footage. http://www.blithfield.org.uk/multimedia/video/ |
Awesome! |
Ok, don't want to upset anyone here but, are these two tackers not blatantly cheating, as they both come out of their tacks at about 3 times the speed they went in at..... http://www.blithfield.org.uk/multimedia/video/download.asp?file=merlin1994_03.wmv |
on the the white boat 3516, is that violent pump/rock legal as the boat is not going through a tack? there does not look to be any gusts or waves to permit such move???? |
there looked like enough wind to make such rocking irrelevant. |
1st boat carrying out a roll tack, second boat certainly being naughty. |
The video merlin1994_02 looks like a straight pumping race to me. |
To a fellow novice it would appear to be |
Read rule 42.3(b). It seems most M/R sailors break this rule every time they tack!!! |
What on earth is that music they are using? Is it Mrs Mills plays hollywood? |
It's dreadful. |
Regarding the poor radio discipline. It was a proper communication between the two boats on each end of the start line, between two licensed radios & two licensed operators. |
Doesn't alter the fact its not exactly military in its transcrption! But hey hang loose its only fun. |
Didn't I bring this Rule 42 subject up Earlier this year. |
Not quite Don, the guy finished off with "Over and Out" |
David Niven & Errol Flynn are alive and well then. |
Looks like a lot of crews having big problems with their top batten ????? |
Aren't you allowed one big roll when you tack? (needed for top batten popping in light winds by us, haven't found another way) |
Law says you can't come out of the tack faster than you wnet in. |
