Nothing serious I hope? 5 weeks is almost terminal these days!
600 then 1200 grade wet and dry emery paper. Lots of water a running hose is best. Gloves to protect your hands a long block and then burnish with faraclay (auto body stuff) and then wax. Lots of water and don't let the resulting mushy stuff dry get it off wet. Outside with a hose, You can rub down a MR Hull in an evening as long as you don't drink too much.DEcks much less I woul;dn't bother with the iside it'll be non-slip! Incidentally a rubbing down inside ant clinker boat tip from the boatman on the Thames - Edwin Phelps- get some pummice powder (old fashioned iron monger required!) some water and scrub with a broom takes abot 30 mins hose out and every nook and cranny is flatted down!
Hope you are better 5 weeks is a long illnes especially in the summer!

I usually add a LITTLE washing up liquid which helps to break down any grease that might be present. Not a lot though. You don't want bubbles all over the place!!!
Is this something good or am I way off?

Get super fine Ferecalla paste .It comes in various grades .Put it on wet and polish off. It needs to be done with electric buffer so be carefull. If your not sure nip down to a car body spray shop and ask . When done it should come up like glass.
